“My family has benefitted a lot through the various schemes of AeA/RASS.” says K. Kiran Kumar (P84 042), 26 years, MBA

In the year 1992, when I was studying in class 7, my sponsors visited me and it made me very happy as I was able to interact with them in person.  I have framed the photos taken during their visit and it occupies a centre place in my home. Through AeA/RASS’ development programmes, my family has benefited financially through the loans for various purposes like buying seedlings, milch animals, setting petty shops, etc.  Soon I will be applying to the ICICI Prudential as an insurance advisor and will start earning Rs. 15000/- per month.  I sincerely thank Aide et Action, RASS and my sponsor for my education and the development activities that have taken place in my village.”

’My sponsor is like a God to me’ says 26 year old D. Rajendran (NB 012 061), MA (Tamil literature)

I am teaching in Iyyanarpuram High School. As a teacher, I want all children to study well and have a special identity as children of Iyyanarpuram schools of ASSEFA. In my leisure time, I love to take care of birds and animals.  I love gardening also.

I have received gifts and mails from the sponsor.  I do not remember my sponsor’s name. But I remember very well, one of the messages of my sponsor which reads as ‘I want you to study well’.  I do not have any photograph of the sponsor.  I would be too happy to meet my sponsor and thank him for all the support. I wish at least I could have a photograph of my sponsor to look at it everyday to express my gratitude.

My parents were happy that I was sponsored because it reduced their expenditure to send me to school. I will never forget the help of my sponsor.  He is like a God to me.

"My childhood is restored" says Boggem Rmulamma

‘My name is Boggem Ramulamma. I am 12 years old, belonging to a poor family of toddy tappers. My father addicted to toddy neglects the family and my mother is the sole bread winner of the family.  I have two sisters and two brothers.

When I was young, I learned to help my mother with the domestic chores. I swept floors, washed clothes, and carried water and firewood. I was very happy when I was allowed to go to school. I made new friends there. I learned to read and write. But when I reached the fourth class, my parents stopped my education. My father said there was no money to pay the fees.
When my mother fell ill I was sent to work as daily wage labourer.  I spent my days loading and unloading stones from the tractor and sleepless nights caring for my sick mother.
The thrift organisers of SECURE came to know about the condition of my family and admitted my mother in the hospital and gave me admission in the Residential Bridge Center.  They also advised my mother to join in the Self Help Group after her recovery in order to save some money for the benefit of the family.

I was soon mainstreamed to the Anantaram School to study in class 7. Through SECURE’s efforts and my hard work, I continue to study well. I am very much thankful to SECURE and Aide et Action for providing me an opportunity to study and be a child again.’
