ILO-NCLP iLEAD Center in Hyderabad
 

ILO-NCLP iLEAD center in Golconda, Hyderabad has been successfully launched on 9th of August 2006 by Ms. Leyla Tegmo Reddy, Director ILO South Asia Region. Other distinguished guests present on this occasion were Mr. Krishnaiya, Principal Secretary of Education, Govt. of A.P., Ms. Rani Kumudini, Project Manager, ILO- AP and Mr. Somesh Kumar, Regional Director, Aide et Action.

In this center, a differential training approach has been taken up for the two age groups (14-16 yrs and 17-18yrs) of students catered to in the centre. The 14- 16 year children are given entry-level skill training with more focus on the education that will be ensured by the RBCs. The second age group of 17- 18 years are being given a more formal training so that they can pursue a career in a particular field. One special feature of the center is that candidates are only girls who come from lower-income group and minority community.

 
 

1000 iLEAD candidates!

As of July 2006, one thousand candidates have passed out from our functional iLEAD centers all over India. This is a great achievement considering that our first iLEAD center opened only in September 2005.

 
 

iLEAD in Bhopal

An iLEAD center has been successfully launched on 7th of April in Bhopal. The total strength is 102 candidates of which 23 are females. The results have been encouraging as we already have about 40 candidates in the waiting list for the next batch. The courses will include hospitality services, automobile and two wheeler mechanism and customer relations and service.

 
 

iLEAD in Pune

An iLEAD center has been established in Bhosale Nagar at Pune. The venue is being set up with the required infrastructure. The instructors have been trained, community mobilisation drives have been conducted in three locations to select candidates. Counselling was done for 70 candidates and they have been admitted. The courses offered are hospitality services, automobile 2 wheeler mechanism, nursing assistants, laboratory technicians and IT enabled services. Regular training will commence from 1st April 2006.

 
 

Passing out with flying colours - iLEAD first batch

The first batch of iLEAD from Chennai South has rolled out successfully with around 95% placements, the remaining 5% are cases who had enrolled for further studies. The salaries range from Rs.1500 to Rs.4500 per month. Congrats to the students and the team of instructors at iLEAD on the successful completion!

 
 

iLEAD goes international

After a month of planning and preparation at Boossa in Galle District, iLEAD Sri Lanka started off with a bang on 9th January 2006 with the lighting of a 6 foot high "Kuthuvillaku" by eminent personalities like Mr.Sunimal Fernando - Advisor to the His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka, Mr.Siri Goonewardene - President of Galle District Tourist Hotel Association and Mr.Mendis - Regional Manager for Singer Home Appliances among others.
Candidates took part in an hour long cultural programme which included traditional dance songs and plays. Around 110 candidates in the age group of 18 to 24 years have joined the training center, the first of its kind in the district.
