Rafat Ali, IAS, Mission Director-SSA; Commissioner-Women & Child Welfare; Dy. Commissioner-Labour; and Director-Civil Supplies, participated in the workshop along with 48 NGO representatives from 23 districts across the state. The principal secretary asked all the project officers to initiate schools in collaboration with NGOs recommended by AEA. The NGOs shared their work experience in education and showed commitment to the cause of education for the migrant children. The state government has also requested AEA to submit a detailed proposal for covering all migrant children under the education spectrum and to work on the strategies that could enable the government to act at the grassroots levels.
This proposal was submitted and the project is now underway. Under the unique project, the state level consortium will be led by AEA, with over 100 partner NGOs. This three year project will aim to ensure education of over 1 lakh migrant children.
