AEAI- South Asia Fellowship Programme  
 
 

Aide et Action International - South Asia has instituted a fellowship programme, “AEAI-SA Fellowship” for people across South Asia. This Fellowship provides an opportunity to experience, learn, innovate, share and practice different ideas and concepts in the field of education.

Aide et Action International has been working in 26 countries across the globe with a vision of a world where dignity is ensured for all men, women and children through education – lever for development. To further the cause of “Education for All” and foster a broad movement for education, Aide et Action International works in close collaboration with civil society groups, governments, NGO partners and individuals engaged in development work. AEAI-SA Fellowship is an effort to strengthen the solidarity base of stakeholders and to encourage mutual learning and sharing.

 
 

Aim

AEAI-SA Fellowship aims to promote innovation, public action and advocacy in the area of education and to enhance the solidarity base of stakeholders.

 
 

Themes

The fellowship is offered under the following broad themes:

   
Innovation and Learning
 
This fellowship is open for all experienced people and knowledge leaders who can strengthen the concepts and understanding in the area of education in general and elementary education in particular. This is to encourage broader sharing of innovative experiences in the area of education.
Community Action
 
This fellowship has been constituted to identify and promote the ideas and actions of leaders emerging from the communities. It aims at initiating actions at the grassroot level with local ideas being the focal point of activity.
Public Action based on Micro Experiences
 
This fellowship has been designed to promote young graduates from different disciplines as volunteers in the area of education and give them an opportunity to connect with the communities. The volunteers will have lived-in experiences with communities that would give an insight in to the educational status of the people. The purpose is to sensitize the young people on greater solidarity with the cause and enable them to influence the education sector from where ever they are.
   
   

Duration

Duration of the fellowship would normally be one year and amount of support would vary depending on the quality and significance of the concept note judged by a panel of experts.

 

How to apply for the AeA Fellowship Programme

Interested candidates can apply for the fellowship by submitting their brief concept notes (detailing the theme of fellowship and thrust area of Aide et Action) and budget to info@aea-india.org . The proposals can be sent to us at your convenience which will be processed and response would normally be sent to you either in the first week of February or first week of August, whichever is closer to the date of submission of your concept note.
 

Thrust areas of Aide et Action

Aide et Action has prioritized its field of action in the form of nine thrust areas that represent its mission. The thrust areas correspond to the challenges identified for the development of education and constitute the focus of the main activities conducted by AeA. We encourage you to submit the concept notes on any of these areas. However, we are open to any other thrust area if it adds value to the work in the education sector or to the learning process in general.
   
Access and Quality of Education: Enabling all children including dropouts, never enrolled and slow learners from marginalized and disadvantaged communities to benefit from quality education that helps to meet their learning needs and successfully complete their education.
Early Childhood: Promoting the holistic development of children in the age group 0 to 6 years.
Inclusive Education: Ensuring integration of children and young adults excluded from society with no or little access to quality education due to their social or economic condition or a disability.
Education for sustainable development and world citizenship: Promoting and encouraging public involvement for sustainable and balanced development through sensitization, training and educational activities.
Livelihood education: Enabling access to secure and sustainable livelihoods ensuring quality of life for all people (especially from marginalized sections).
Health Education: Promoting prevention, generating awareness and building capacities of communities and developing mechanisms for
  care and support on serious diseases including HIV/AIDS.
Migration: Creating an enabling learning and living environment for migrant population especially children and women.
Emergency and Post emergency: Addressing issues of rehabilitation and disaster preparedness of affected populations with a specialfocus on education of children.
Women and girls education: Promoting the education of girls and women and ensuring their participation in the decision making.
